Description: The two zines are part of a series in progress about the ancient Babylonian Aramaic incantation bowls, originally buried to trap demons and then dug up by various colonial museums. I’m interested in the original creators’ use of these bowls as a demon-trapping technology, the lineage of the technologies and scientific understandings those makers applied in their crafting process, and what their science can tell me about the relationships and violences that have occurred since the museums dug the bowls up.
